The Great Resignation phenomenon is very real in Australia, or as the previous treasurer Josh Frydenberg called it, “The Great Reshuffle.”
COVID-19 has basically forced us to question how, where, and who with we spend our working life.
Already over 300,000 workers have reshuffled their careers within just 90 days, and the industry is expecting between 20% - 40% of workers to change jobs this year.
And guess what! The primary reason is not more money, but greater work fulfilment!
So what I love so much about this quote by Matt Church (and I highly recommend his book “The Thought Leaders Practice” is that it provides some simple guidelines that help to influence our career choices.
Do what you love.
As Simon Sinek once said, “It is our God-given right to love where we work” So work for a company where your skillsets are valued and embraced and where you feel empowered to be part of the greater good.
With people you like.
We don’t need to tolerate poor management styles or behaviours or the stress and anxiety that comes with this.
The way you want.
Find the balance that works for you and the company you work for. If that means working from home Mondays & Fridays, then make it happen!
It certainly influences the way we work at AdaptivOrg and the clients we choose to work with.
How does your work culture stack up to this?
