Queen: An Insights Discovery Analogy

It was inevitable that I would have a go at putting my favourite band “Queen” through the Insights colour energies.

🟡 🟡 🟡 Freddie Mercury was charismatic, outgoing, and had a natural ability to captivate audiences with his stage presence. Freddie's exuberant personality, creative flair, and passion for music align with the characteristics of Sunshine Yellow.

🔵 🔵 🔵 Brian May is analytical, detail-oriented, and possesses a deep understanding of music theory. His strategic approach to songwriting and his innovative guitar techniques reflect the characteristics of Cool Blue.

🔴 🔴 🔴 Roger Taylor is dynamic, energetic, and has a bold and assertive presence both on and off stage. Roger's powerful drumming style, along with his willingness to push boundaries and experiment with different musical genres, aligns with the characteristics of Fiery Red.

🟢 🟢 🟢 John Deacon is grounded, reliable, and values harmony within the band. His steady bass lines and his ability to contribute solidly to Queen's sound without seeking the spotlight reflect the characteristics of Earth Green.

Queen was renowned for their internal conflicts and fights however their solo exploits never reached the dizzying heights of success as their collective work. All four members contributed to the song writing process, bringing their own ideas and talents to the table and working through their differences.

What I love about this example is that it demonstrates how you can build a formidable team if you can get the four different colour energies to work together acknowledging the value each member brings – and it is beyond doubt that Queen were a formidable band!

Edit: 🟢 🟡 🔵 🔴 Although this is a bit of fun to help us relate to and better understand the colour energies, let's remember that we're not confined to just one hue in the Insights spectrum; we encompass all four. Each individual embodies traits of red, blue, green, and yellow energies, with varying degrees of dominance. For instance, Freddie Mercury was inclined towards an Earth Green trait in his personal life.

"I'm not as extroverted as everybody thinks. I am very shy, very vulnerable and very sensitive, almost to the point of being a walking nerve."

"Offstage, I'm a completely different person. I'm not Freddie. I'm not flamboyant. I'm not camp. I'm not any of those things." - Freddie Mercury. 🟢 🟡 🔵 🔴
