So you are starting on your new ways of working journey, so who should you hire?
A scrum master or a coach?
Both are good at building effective teams, a scrum master for a single team, and a coach typically across the enterprise.
I judge a good coach or Delivery Advisor, as we call them in AdaptivOrg, on their willingness to get their hands dirty and demonstrate the right behaviours by being the scrum master for a team until the team is ready to share the role among themselves.
This shouldn’t take more than a couple of months, and then the Delivery Advisor can move on to the next team.
