Woohoo! Australian Open week, so I just have to share this photo again of me playing at Melbourne Park a number of years ago as part of the Corporate Games.
Tennis players need to respond to change instantly during a match, predicting the direction of a 200km/h ball. They must be mentally and physically prepared to handle the immense pressure and adapt to change. Without this agility, they would not survive long in the game.
Being mentally and physically ready is the strong foundation / stable platform that tennis players must have. In the corporate world, a strong foundation for teams to become agile can be a range of things - the right skills, mindset, technical platform!
This tennis analogy is one I often use when teaching agility in organizations.
