Cumulonimbus Clouds: An Anaology

Cumulonimbus clouds (or thunderclouds) are menacing looking multi-level clouds, extending high into the sky in towers or plumes, the only cloud type that can produce hail, thunder and lightning.

I recently caught up with SEISMA GROUP colleague Karel Schuller tot Peursum - top bloke and Head of Salesforce Talent Acquisition and Retention and he shared a great analogy about these thunderclouds

I often refer to the famous Patrick Lencioni (from The Table Group) quote “if you get all the people in an organisation rowing in the same direction, you could dominate any industry, in any market, against any competition, at any time”

Well, the Cumulonimbus cloud is natures way of showing the complete opposite effect – a cloud pulling in different directions to form the perfect storm in the middle, something I am sure we have all experienced in the workplace when management push in the opposite direction to their teams. This creates quite an unhealthy culture lacking trust and empowerment.

Our ultimate goal of our Insights superhero coaching and our#Ignite 90-day planning & coaching is help teams step out of their siloes and get everyone on the same page so they can row in the same direction and prevent a cumulonimbus from forming (or at least be equipped to band together and deal with it if/when it happens!)
